Empowering Newcomers, Enriching Canada
Welcome to Capacity Building Canada
At Capacity Building Canada, we are dedicated to empowering new immigrants as they embark on their journey to successful and fulfilling careers in Canada. We believe that every newcomer brings unique skills, perspectives, and potential, and we are committed to helping them realize these strengths within Canada’s vibrant and diverse workforce.
Our organization offers structured and tailored support through mentorship programs, hands-on training, and job shadowing opportunities across various sectors. We take a holistic approach that goes beyond employment, providing critical support for addiction and mental health challenges. Our services are designed to support individuals and families as they navigate complex transitions, offering trauma-informed care, harm reduction strategies, and mental health resources to help everyone thrive.
A key initiative under our umbrella is the "Sober Runway" project, which is open to all Canadians, not just immigrants. Sober Runway is specifically designed to support individuals in recovery, offering a safe and supportive space for those dealing with addiction and mental health challenges. The project aims to unite people from diverse backgrounds, including new immigrants and established Canadians, by connecting them with business and vocational opportunities. Through targeted resources and personalized guidance, Sober Runway helps individuals build confidence, gain critical experience in their chosen fields, and form meaningful connections within the community.
We also provide educational support to help families settle into the Canadian educational system. Our programs guide families through school enrollment processes, familiarize them with academic expectations, and offer resources for English language learning. By supporting both parents and children, we help create a strong foundation for educational success and community integration.
Our services extend into the wider community, offering not just career-oriented support but also fostering integration, community connection, and well-being. We are committed to building bridges that connect newcomers and Canadians alike with professional and community networking events, valuable resources, and a strong sense of belonging. Through our programs, individuals gain the tools and support needed to thrive personally and professionally, contributing to a stronger, more inclusive Canada for all!

“Street Friends Connection was the first place where I felt treated like a human being. The warm clothing helped, but the real support was the conversations and the encouragement to think about recovery.”

Being part of this community helped me rebuild my identity. It reminded me that recovery isn’t just surviving it’s finding joy again. The support I received made a huge difference in my mental health.”

“The team checked on me every month during outreach. Those small check‑ins helped me stay connected and eventually ask for help with my addiction.”
